Description
Longlasting - Skinloving - Ecofriendly
For this soap we used Organic Hemp Seed Oil at 10%.
The soap weighs about 67g.Soap ingredients:
Saponified organic oils: (Tallow, Olive, Coconut, Hemp Seed, Shea Butter, Castor). Kawakawa tea, glycerine, Essential oil, Citric Acid, Sugar, Green Clay, Kawakawa powder
Essential Oils: Lemongrass, Ylang-YlangII, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Litsea Cubeba, Rosemary, Frankincense
I was trying to get a sort of Hemp like scent, it's very pleasant, but not like the Hemp fragrance I have used before.
In case you have any idea how to come closer to that scent, let me know please.
Just to clarify:
The tallow that I use for the soaps is organic, but it's not officially
certified.
I use Essential oils from reputable sources
(Pure Nature, Zen Aroma, Beautiquip), but they are not organic either.
(It's just too expensive for me at this stage to look into buying organic essential oils, in case you're wondering why).
*Please note that I don't put any extra glycerine into the soap - this is just the glycerine that is created naturally during the soap making process.
According to NZ labelling rules the final ingredients of a product have to be listed.
Disclaimer:
This soap is for cleansing.
Some ingredients might have reported benefits on their own, but how those hold up in soap (because of the saponification process) is unclear. We can't claim any effects beyond cleansing. As with any new product, we recommend patch testing this soap on a small area before full use and discontinue if any irritation occurs.
Properties of oils / materials used:
Tallow | Provides excellent hardness to soap for long-lasting bars. Produces a creamy lather with good cleansing properties. Contains skin-friendly vitamins A, D, E, and K. Natural antioxidants help protect the skin. |
Coconut | Creates a bubbly and effective cleansing lather. Adds firmness to soap bars for durability. Contains natural antioxidants to provide some skin protection. |
Olive | Offers gentle cleansing with a soft and luxurious lather. High oleic acid content makes it superb for nourishing the skin. Rich in vitamin E, a potent antioxidant for skin protection. |
Hemp Seed Oil in Soap | Rich in essential fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6, which contribute to its nourishing properties. Contains antioxidants such as Vitamin E, which may help protect the skin. |
Shea Butter | Provides deep nourishment and skin support. Adds creaminess and hardness to soap bars. Packed with vitamins A, E, and F, as well as antioxidants. |
Castor | Attracts moisture to the skin, ensuring hydration. Enhances lather and bubbles for a satisfying wash. Contains vitamin E and essential fatty acids for some skin nourishment. |
Citric acid | in your soap serves a dual purpose. It helps your soap perform well in hard water by preventing mineral build up, ensuring a rich lather. Additionally, it acts as a natural preservative, extending the soap's shelf life for a longer-lasting product you'll enjoy. |
Sugar | Added to soap recipes to increase lather and bubbles. Acts as a natural humectant, attracting moisture to the skin. |
Clays | Might provide some very mild exfoliation and are mainly used as a natural colourant in soaps. |
Kawakawa | a native New Zealand plant, has held a special place in Maori culture for centuries. Maori people have traditionally used Kawakawa leaves in various ways, harnessing their unique properties for their well-being. The leaves were collected from our garden in the Kenepuru Sound. |
Essential Oils | It's important to note that while essential oils have gained popularity for their natural origins, they can be potent and should be used with care. Essential oils may trigger allergies or skin sensitivities in some individuals, and their usage often requires dilution and proper knowledge. Which is why we’re very careful in our usage of them and often prefer to use Fragrance oils. We adhere to European safety regulations and never put more than 3% into our oils and usually use a mix of Essential oils to really be on the safe side here. As with our fragrance oils, we only buy from reputable sellers. |
